Dog Mountain
The wind was still and Jesse had the day off work, so we went for an impromptu hike this morning.
This was our first time climbing Dog Mountain and we figured that the popular hike would be less crowded on a misty weekday....and it was.
The trail begins at the Columbia River and takes you 2,948 feet up in 3.5 miles. It was steep and definitely a workout. But the views are pretty fantastic.
Jonah kept saying "wow."
Miss Daisy thoroughly enjoyed herself and received praise from the handful of folks we encountered for having such stamina.
You can tell who's exhausted and who just got a free ride up the mountain.
Here's a panorama of the view from the top. We live in a beautiful place.
I was glad that Daisy finally got to summit her Dog Mountain.
Little Mister fell asleep on the way back down.
It was a great outing.

Spring
In The Gorge, the first wild flowers to bloom are the Grass Widows. Snow flakes were falling yesterday, but Spring is making her mark.
I love this time of year....dashing outside in between rain showers for a walk in the bright sun.
Soon the Lupine and Balsamroot will be blooming too.
We love this little wildflower hike because it is so close to home and so pretty.
