Post Canyon

Over the summer Jonah discovered the joy of riding bikes.  He became obsessed and anytime we were outside he was on his green bike.  Gone are the days of training wheels...balance bikes are the new "thing" these days because of their ability to translate the tricky part of riding bikes (balance) into something kids can master before adding pedals to the mix.

Jonah gets momentum with gravity and pushing with his feet.  And now that flat pavement has been mastered, we have introduced Jonah to the "ladders" and "bumps" at Post Canyon.

Cruising!

Stopping for a sip of water from Daddy.

We found a cool purple mushroom popping up from under one of the elevated ladders.
This is the only photo that I took that was actually in focus.

Wheee!

Jonah says, "This one is skinny."  And is very careful.

Jonah has a really good attitude and even when he falls,
he wants to get right back on and ride some more.

It's pretty special to see him out riding trails just like his Daddy.

Afghanistan

The photos from my last post in August, were taken the day Jesse left for Afghanistan.  It was a work trip and we had very little advance notice, so it really rocked our summer plans.  He was abroad for three weeks.  Since his return, we were able to squeak in a trip to Flathead Lake before summer ended, attend a memorial for his Nana in San Diego, spend some time with friends in Bend, and tackle a few projects around the house.

My thoughts and energy have been focused elsewhere the last three months.  It has been too long; I'm committing to getting back into the swing of blogging.  I've missed sharing with you--there will be more photos and updates to follow.
